Unfortunately, or maybe there is no other way, the delegates have no other metric to use other than the time frames defined by the IPCC in their reports. The next IPCC report may have better timeframes and estimates.

Here again though the issue remains - it’s still about effects that most of won’t see because we will be dead.

I’m finding it difficult to grasp actually. It seems as though we’re being asked to go from some Highway to Hell to Zero in a couple of years. Or as Gordon Brown said something about a few weeks. How can we realistically go from our Ford F350s to nothing while paying the G77/China and AOSIS countries a dividend while down sizing to prevent a leveling off of sea and land global temperature at our around 1.5 to 2.0 degrees C? And at the same time China is pulling our proverbial chain.
