Wasn’t Harvey Milk a regular visitor to Jim Jones’ temple when it was in San Francisco?
re: #416 Dar ul Harb
Dunno. Ask zombie, who seems to know much of the history of the area.
A lot of top Democratic politicians hobnobbed with Jim Jones. Even the First Lady Rosalynn Carter flew in from the White House to visit Jim Jones’ temple in San Francisco, as did many other leading Democratic politicians. I wouldn’t be surprised if Harvey Milk was one of them.
(Why would they meet with and praise Jim Jones, you might asK? Because before 1978, Jim Jones was a top Democratic “community organizer” and delivered a lot of votes and donations to the Democratic Party, through his activism in inner-city communities. He was not yet known as a crazy cult leader. Just thought of as a radical but well-intentioned preacher.)
