Basically, you get to be on the Human Rights Council whether you actually believe in human rights or not, which seems a little off to be, but the UN has their own way of doing things.

Maybe our government doesn’t want to piss off oil rich nations, especially ones with crazed leaders, because there’s a lot more than Libya we could criticize. I’m also pretty sure the HRC wouldn’t know about Human Rights if it hit em in the face looking at that list.

Another good reason to get off oil as much as possible.
