No, it won’t be cathartic or cleansing for the targets — it never is. For us, these are not abstract matters, they are issues of personal safety.

It never is for the targets, I agree. But it is for the rest of the nation.

And as near as I can tell it’s going to happen. It’s a classic zealotry cycle. The only question, really, is when.

The longer the delay, the worse it’ll be not just for the targets but for the bystanders.
