With all due respect, if you think conservatives or Republicans are racists, Anti-Semites or homophobic you’re wrong.
Are there racists, Anti-Semites or homophobes in the Republican Party - I have no doubt.
But keep in mind that until 1968, the Democrats were the party of the Jim Crow laws which sought to and did keep Black people down - all through the South - with bs literacy tests for blacks to take - and fail after being judged by white Democrats - to be able to VOTE, with separate but equal facilities for education, eating and riding on the back of the bus only treatment) all white, segregated public schools. (and YES, President Dwight Eisenhower - a Republican, did send the 82nd Airborne Division down to Arkansas to stop Democratic Governor Orval Faubus from preventing black children from entering previously) For a better take on this, y’all might want to go see [Link: afrocityblog.wordpress.com…] a blog run by a Black, conservative Woman, who is also an LGFer, and get an earful from her and her commenters on the way the Democrat Party treats not just Blacks, but Jews and gays as well.
Y’all could also Wiki and then google “Log Cabin Republicans” who are Gay Republicans.
Oh, and ever since William F. Buckley Jr. threw Pat Buchanan out of the conservative movement in the pages of National Review, Buchanan has been nothing more that an opportunistic White Supremacist/Nazi, frequently purporting to represent Republicans and conservatives and alas, Mr. Buckley has passed away and I can’t think of anyone on the National Scene who could rightfully claim Mr. Buckley’s leadership of the Conservative movement in this country or if I did, I have no doubt that they would disown his ass ASAP.
