I wonder how many of these supposedly literalistic Evangelicals know that “Hell” is a Greek concept that was forced into the Jewish sects’ various beliefs about death, as the various strands of 1st and 2nd century religions coalesced into what we later knew as “Christianity”?

The conflation with the Jewish ideas of the river Jordan with the Greek ideas of the River Styx is a rather clear example of how syncretic “Christianity” was/is.
