Canceling the F-22 Raptor without allowing Israel to purchase it is likely an attempt to make it impossible for Israel to take out the Iranian nuclear program. By the time the F-35s are delivered it will likely be too late.

Then why won’t we sell them to Japan, or Australia either? Israel isn’t special in this regard, for whatever reason the military has decided to guard the F-22 technology like it’s the holy freaking grail, it’s not some grand strategy to blunt Israel’s options against Iran.
