It might be a rather dystopian view, but if someone wants to go lobbing nuclear weapons around the world, I am happy I live where I do. I won’t have to survive the aftermath of a Mad Max world.

All my adult life I have lived in places that are targets for nuclear attack (Virginia Beach, Jacksonville, Charleston, Omaha, Chicago). There pretty much isn’t a place that is not a target or close to one.

At least with all the silos around me I know it won’t be a near miss and weeks of radiation sickness. Just lawn chairs and popcorn to watch the fireworks display.

I’m living in VB now and live close enough to NAS Oceana that anything bigger than a baby nuke means I’m going to have a very bad day. Between the blast wave, the fires, and the radiation, my chances of survival are between “WTF!?” and “OMFG!!!”
