It’s why Kaiser is so happy to nag you to come in and get a free flu shot. They don’t want to pay for people getting care for the flu. Sadly, this year there is a strain that they shot doesn’t cover.

That is always a possibility since the vaccine manufacturers try to anticipate the dominant strains that change annually. But any vaccine will be better than no coverage at all - and it helps reduce the effects.
