Mehsud is behind a bunch of recent terror attacks inside Pakistan and the Frontier Provinces. He’s more organized and his thugs are far more adept at attacking actual army forces - going after the Pakistani army and killing anyone and everyone in their path. Mehsud’s terrorists took on the police in Lahore and attacked their police academy. Other Mehsud terrorists have killed hundreds of Pakistanis this year.

Mehsud is doing all he can to establish a Taliban regime in the provinces, but his power extends well beyond into Afghanistan and Pakistan proper. His power and capabilities are extremely dangerous and should not be underestimated.
