James Taranto at OpinionJournal (“A Method to Obama’s Madness?”) points out that the (probably unintentional) side effect of Obama throwing Israel over for Iran and Hamas is a sudden interest on the part of moderate Arab nations in making peace with Israel (most likely so that Israel can then focus on knocking out Iran’s nuke program).

That also directly contradicts the stated position of the Obama Administration that the Arab countries will only help Israel deal with Iran if Israel first makes concessions to the Palestinians. In fact, it seems that the moderate Arab countries are ready to beat up on the Palestinians to make a peace deal that frees up Israel’s defense forces to deal with Iran.
