There may, in fact, be little the US can do to directly help the Reformists, but Obama’s undoubtedly welcoming the chance to use the “hands off” line. He has another dog in a different fight, and doesn’t want to lose use of it.

I’m strongly inclined to wonder if (bottom line) he cares about what’s going on in the streets of Iran.
