The really disturbing thing isn’t that Barton made that statement, by the way — it’s that he doesn’t seem to think he’s going to suffer any negative political consequences from it. And so far, that calculation seems to be correct; the reactions I’m seeing from conservatives on blogs and Twitter are overwhelmingly in favor of what Barton said.
