There is a great reason the Enterprise is embracing 802.1x port security on Cisco Switches..Homeland security need to get off their ass and stop the hacking into our systems..
The beauty of port security is that the user needs a CA cert to access resources…And that cert id’s the user..Without the Cert the port will shut down and nothing passes…Period..But it also issues one other Cert.. A MAC cert that ID’s the machine you are on…You can only access the Network with a certified machine..
So you can be in a Library computer with every password in the world and without an approved computer holding a cert..You are locked out of access..
Tough system to hack…
