A family member of mine opened up to me about an incident that happened to her as a young woman today. I think more and more should I ever have sons that one of the first things I’m going to try to impart in them is to respect women and to consider them their equal. We men aren’t entitled to women. Love and respect has to be a two way street.

I learned when my son was young that if I didn’t raise him to respect me, he would never respect women. That meant dealing with alot of my own shit and being a person worthy of his respect.

I think the same goes for fathers and their children.

Being an adult is hard.
