I suspect that as long as Barr rabidly protects Trump from facing any consequences, Barr can do whatever the hell he wants. Barr and Pompeo are soulless blowhards. Trump sees kindred spirits. They might outlive their usefulness, but for now, Trump revels in their bluster.
