What is upsetting the right wing blogosphere about LGF so much lately is that Charles is obdurately showing them seamy things about themselves and their allies that they would deeply prefer not to see.

Because as long as they don’t see them, they can pretend that they aren’t there.

Charles isn’t giving them that option.

That’s true, but there’s also a witchhunt on to declare him an apostate, because he refuses to join in on the manufactured freakout of the day. They can and do ignore the criticism they get from others…this is perceived by them as a personal betrayal from someone they mistakenly thought of as one of their own.

And frankly, I suspect many of them were always envious on a personal level of Charles’ status and influence as a blogger. This is presenting those wankers with a perfect opportunity to vent the spite and jealousy they secretly harboured for years. That’s the other reason why the attacks are so personal, so vitriolic, so over the top.
