At a temp job back in the day, I came back from lunch and my supervisor says to me “The girl of your dreams was in here earlier with a check for a million dollars, looking for you. Too bad you missed her”.

I said “Just as well, ‘cuz my girlfriend would’ve been pissed if I came home and dumped her”.

He says “Ah, you’re a smart man. I was stupid and married for love instead of money”.
