Ummm… everyone pays taxes. Everyone.

You buy something at a store? You’ve paid taxes - because most states impose a sales tax.

You bought gas? You paid taxes too.

Cigarettes? Liquor? You paid taxes.

Income taxes? Pretty much anyone who has a job pays taxes (they’re taken out as withholding).

But what these idiots think is that if you haven’t paid income tax in April, you aren’t entitled to vote? What kind of nonsense is this? It’s a return to what’s essentially a poll tax.

It’s the same nonsense that brought us “Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, and segregation forever.” But you’re absolutely right. Everyone pays taxes.
