Trump Wanted a Cheaper Air Force One. So the USAF Is Buying a Bankrupt Russian Firm’s Undelivered 747s

Can’t this guy do anything that doesn’t involve Russia?

It was just a few days ago I was reading that that company had not taken delivery of it’s order. Fell down a “Wiki-hole” after reading an article about what was likely the last 747 passenger aircraft to ever be built.

Both a/c are 747-8Is. Brand spanking new. The USAF will save a few dollars. But, likely both planes will practically have to be taken apart and reassembled. That will add to the discounted purchase price. Something that wouldn’t be needed with new builds.
