On the plus side, along with the Lebanon news, the weasel-y Labor Party is seriously weakened in the U.K.

Down and then up:

Taliban takes over 1/3 of Pakistan, then is driven back by the Pakistani army.

Mexico descends into gang-fueled violence.

…All in all, just another month on planet Earth. I don’t think Obama’s presidency has had much of an effect either way, frankly. All politics is local politics — and that applies internationally, too. It is only America’s narcissism which makes us think that our president influences everything around the globe.
