Except they clearly are a partisan issue, unless you can come up with some recent threats to Republicans. (Or if you want, people that voted against HCR, but its largely the same thing)

It may work out that way on this issue. But we have seen time and time again over the year, that depending on the issue, the other side can have a wing of crazies that resort to violence.

Just ‘cause in this case the “right” lost, and so it’s the “right” loons who are behaving violently, doesn’t mean that we should only condemn the “right”.

We need to constantly reinforce that despite the philosophical differences between people in the US, civility must hold.

If someone is angry at the outcome of a vote or the passing of a bill, corrective action must be through elections and helping people who share your views run for office, and categorically NOT through any intimidation, threats of violence, or actual violence. That is what democracy is all about.

I think in this incident with Cantor, we have the issue of things being reported as the events are still developing. I still agree with his fundamental point, regardless of weather the shot was intentionally aimed at the office or was random. Seeking political gain through the violence is wrong.
