I remember the first time I heard someone say “they speak Mexican.” I almost went ballistic.

I’ve heard that before. I’ve also heard people say the most racist, derogatory things about Mexicans and other Hispanics, only to be shocked when they find out I’m Mexican. Since I’m fair-skinned, they assume I’m Italian or maybe even Greek, so they let their guard down and act the fool.

Crap like that doesn’t even surprise me anymore. =P
