Part of the identity of this place is the wide open, few holds barred, highly intellectual (mostly) arguments. The other part of the identity is the ability to step outside the normal animus of those arguments and go nerd, or jock, or politician or whatever and communicate at a totally different level.

Both of those parts seem to be necessary for this place to be this place. It would be sad if either part were removed.
