So you see, kiddies, torture was merely an “error, with honorable intentions” but the release of the report is a “national disgrace” according to Schindler.
What struck me when I first saw the list of 20 key findings from the Senate report was how inevitable most of them seemed. Acceptance of torture as “business as usual” in the US is a great evil that will corrupt everything it relates to.
Kudos to those who saw this in advance just after 9/11 (sadly I was not so perceptive then).
