There was as time when “rural state” did not automatically equate to “GOP state”…but it is the nature of the Senate that the GOP is over-represented in the less populous states and the Dems. based on the overall number of votes cast for Democratic candidates nationwide, should have a much clearer majority.

There was time when Democrats had a chairman who gave a damn about a 50 State Strategy and built up a grassroots organizing movement…and when he succeeded Obama showed Howard Dean the door and installed flunky after flunky who turned their backs on that.
