Y’all might get a chuckle:
LAFAYETTE — The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office said that two deputies were fired today after an internal affairs investigation revealed that both had been driving a patrol unit that ended up submerged in a pond following a private party at a deputy’s home on Oct. 23.
The incident occurred after the two deputies took turns driving a patrol unit through open fields following a private party at a home in southwest Lafayette Parish, said Lt. Craig Stansbury, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.
At some point, one of the deputies unintentionally drove the unit into a pond located on the residence, Stansbury said.
A watch commander with the Sheriff’s Office was notified at about 2 a.m., Stansbury said.
The vehicle received water damage and had to be towed out of the pond, Stansbury said.”
