For most of American history, women and minorities couldn’t vote, blacks were slaves, the concept of 40-hour work weeks and weekends didn’t exist, and child labor laws, food safety, and worker safety were a joke.

There’s a reason we have social progress — to correct the mistakes of the past. Fischer and his ilk would turn back the clock if they could.
