Also, let’s remember that rape is not just of women— while fewer adult men are raped, many, many male children are raped. So positing it just in terms of women being raped is something that I think confuses the issue a little— there’s a lot of overlap between those who rape and those who don’t care about age of consent laws.

Granted, but most of the “advice” being talked about here pretty much exclusively applies to women. Are you really going to tell a five year old to “be less attractive”? And, yet again, much of this advice is actually of little help in preventing rape because it presumes a large amount of rape occurs randomly from strangers, when that is just not the case, especially in the case of children.
