Deep South refers to Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Louisiana, NOT Virginia.

Exactly my point< Virginia wasn’t the “Deep South” thus why the guy probably feels that slavery wasn’t an issue for them to be a part of the civil war.

At least I figure that’s how he might see it having come to the conclusion after banging my head on a wall for a bit….
