On an OT note: Whatever happened to musicians with staying power?

I’m talking about those great talented people that could manage to be relevant amidst multiple cultural and generational changes and continue to make great music all the way through.

Now all I see are one trick pony pop stars, boy bands with a shelf life of maybe 5 years, sexy young singers who will become nobodies as soon as the wrinkles set in and cocky young guys who love voice distortion machines waaay too much.

What happened to real music with real power?
