Well see, here is the difference between Teh Juice and Christians like Bryan. We have the Hebrew Scriptures but we also have an oral tradition of how to interpret the scriptures, kind of a “User’s Manual.”

There is a healthy ancient tradition of questioning, analyzing and re-interpreting according to the needs of each generation.

He wouldn’t go for the “questioning” part. He just wants total obedience based upon *his* sole interpretation of the document(s). That’s his source of authority and he appears to be focused on the authority and not the philosophy. And that appears to be the problem with a lot of these religious nuts - it’s a path to getting and keeping authority, not a position for teaching and living the philosophy behind the religion.
