Saw a meme on my FB feed last night about LOS ANGELES COUNTY HAS AS MANY PEOPLE AS THESE 20 STATES THAT’S WHY WE NEED THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE and thinking about that, I realize he may not be able to be stopped from giving California away to the lowest bidder. Also, I feel a little bad because for once, I actually got baited into responding, because I just couldn’t let that one go. I replied, “Why should all those blue areas (interesting that they turned the colors around, btw) have more power with less people? Land doesn’t vote.”

It’s a stupid argument. Yeah LA County is big. That’s because gasp people want to live there.

And again, not to mention that the whole thing is completely predicated on those votes being treated as a total monolith. Which popular vote doesn’t do, but, quelle surprise, EC actually does. So…you know….
