In practice, this would likely lead to only millionaires serving, since no one else could live in DC on those wages. I do think that anyone in any federal office should have to completely divest any business holdings or stocks and put everything in a blind trust, including any stocks. I also think that all financial records, including tax returns, should be public knowledge as a condition of filing for office.
