Yes, but my point is they aren’t watching the news or on twitter or websites like this. They don’t think of themselves as racists and don’t approve of open bigots like the KKK, but they do also mostly hold stereotypical views of African-Americans, Hispanics and Muslims that they’ve heard all of their lives and forms the common mythology of conservatism. They don’t understand how life is very different for African-Americans because its not something they have ever been taught or had to experience for themselves.
