Back in the early 1960s my mom and dad were driving back into TX from Mexico and they got stopped and questioned because my mom is of central European descent. They had to show ID and talk to the border guard. My mom grew up in Dallas, so it was a 5 minute inconvenience…and my dad thought it was pretty funny that the border patrol thought he looked like a guy who was shopping for a senorita.

He said he was glad they hadn’t filled the trunk with Kalhua (sp?) and cigarettes…

again, they weren’t up to mischief, and it was no big deal. If people in AZ aren’t up to mischief, it’s no big deal.
