New Gingrich kicked the last set of elected Republican “reformers” into line. So I expect the Republican House/Senate leadership to not have that much trouble doing the same to these. They’ll be restrained by tradition and the well-grooved tracks of “this is how things are done”. And it they get supplied staff there instead of totally bringing their own in then they’ll already be at least 50% in leash since the staff has a lot of influence on what materials they actually see, what they get briefed about, and recommendations on what to do and who to see.
