re: #46 Birth Control Works
It’s so depressing to know that no matter how hard I work, I’ll never be strong enough to do that. Genetic Collagen Disorders suck.
At least I know now, why I wasn’t athletic as a kid. Kids that can’t make it in sports have all kinds of issues of self-doubt.
I sucked at PE in school, but enjoyed football (aka soccer) and volleyball outside of PE class. PE was traumatizing in some ways. Did no sports in college. Cross-country skiing when I lived in snow country. Then at age 30 I signed up for TaeKwanDo with my ex and our two older boys. To my surprise (I mean, really — surprise) I was good enough to earn a yellow belt. Me, a kid who couldn’t hit or catch a baseball for his life, and who could barely do two pull-ups.
I didn’t stay with it, for financial reasons (daughter was 6 months old, and Master Kim wanted more money for continuing lessons). I really should have kept with it. I’d be in better shape now.
