Like LVQ says, yes they were fooled, but if they press the attack they can be the people who speak truth to power and get to the bottom of the issue.

If they just let it drop they’ll see like they’re trying to cover up their weakness rather than openly admitting to it and trying to make sure it never happens again.

I think you guys are being generous. At a minimum the WH and the USDA jumped the gun. Calling her 3 or 4 times and asking her to pull over to the side of the road so she could resign reeks of panic. They acted pathetic and weak in the face of “your going to be on Beck!”. The quickness with which they tossed her under the bus is pretty disturbing.
