Good for the pope, but in general, complete and utter proof that a lot of the leadership in Islam (and their more radical followers) have no intention of coexisting with the Jews, and on a larger scale, coexisting with Western societies.

They want a “religious war.” And, as barbaric as it seems, they will probably be getting one sometime in the future.

In the past, Western nations have made treaties with Germans and Russians and China and Japan, and we have left each other up to their own politics and religion, as long as we didn’t try to step all over each other. Even if we didn’t see eye to eye on policy and politics, or even certain human rights.

But that’s going to work with the radical members of Islam. For them, it’s going to be as it always has been, a all or nothing proposition.

The west will prevail, but it’s not going to be pretty.
