re: #505 EmmmieG

About three feet—very prolific, but I cheat with some of that non-organic acidic fertilizer that Zombie once mentioned. The berries are already on them, but I think green berries are tightly attached. They are at least 8 years old.

EmmmieG … if you want to go non-organic .. use whatever you would feed an azalea … you can also put coffee grounds around them … it is best to plant them in a 75% peat moss 25% top soil mix (but yours are already established) … mulch with pine needles or pine bark … never fertilize near the trunk and only do it before bloom come and then again right before dormancy … Worm’s Way is a great organic site but I am not sure you have them in your area … or if they deliver to your area online …. blueberries require little fertilization and are the easiest of berries to grow …

The wind will not harm your bushes unless it is a freezing wind coming from the north … it is too late in the year to harm them if they are already putting on fruit … Good Luck with them! … blueberries are the best! …
