Obama is going to Copenhagen on Friday to aid the Chicago 2016 bid. I see no reason why not. Since it is a US city bidding for the Olympics, a US President going to aid the bid seems worthy, IMHO.

He’s President of the United States, not President of the City-State of Chicago. The Olympics will benefit Chicago, maybe, but have no visible impact on the rest of the US. Let Chicago worry about it and congratulations to them if they get it.
