From what I can see so far, Judge Sotomayor is “clean” and minimally qualified at least. Pre-Bork that would have been enough to assure confirmation. Personally, were I a Senator, I would probably vote FOR confirmation on that basis, reserving a minute or two for a statement to that effect. My choice would have been Janice Rogers Brown. Perhaps she will be the choice of the NEXT President.
