re: #508 Coracle

As for memory holes in general, I think it’s important to note when things change or disappear, but the concept of “sweeping things under the rug” is something I find odd in the internet era. Anyone who’s net savvy knows that almost anything that goes up on the net gets archived, and can be recalled. The question I want to ask is, if a politician or any other entity puts something up that they regret, or change their mind about, or want to retract, what are they supposed to do? Leave the page up with a big “Update: We don’t mean this anymore” notice? Replace it with a 404 type page saying “We’ve taken this page down because we made a mistake?”. What would be the proper etiquette for removing a controversial thing from a website?

How about not comparing Americans who oppose you as heirs of Bin Laden in the first place .
