Perhaps the best way to deal with hate groups like the College Republicans is to ignore them. They appear to thrive on negative publicity and they get to play the victim when they’re attacked.

But it’s easy for me to advocate ignoring them when I’m not at their mercy, having been out of college for decades now. Seems like all the debates are about free speech which favors provocative orgs like College Republicans at the expense of minority students.

I’m old enough to remember reading about College Republicans just doing tacky shit like affirmative action bake sales. The College Republicans/right wing youth like their parents and grandparents have grown more radical though. When I was at GMU, we had a Youth for Western Civilization chapter and Tom Tancredo was invited to speak.
