Funny thing about vampire fiction - it changes with the times. In the late 1960s, Dark Shadows had a vampire who didn’t really want to kill women, but he had to keep doing it. He was a sympathetic character and women just LOVED him, and the show was very popular.

Fast forward to the 1990s, and a guy who runs around killing women he picks up in bars is no longer a sympathetic character, especially with women, even if he doesn’t enjoy it. Dark Shadows revival series lasts 12 episodes.
