There’s an element of that but I don’t think it’s as strong as it’s portrayed commonly. In many households it’s the woman running the show.

The pretty young things on film/tv do the airhead act, it’s true, until they reach middle age (which for them is around 50.) Then they seem to transform into mistresses of domination.
