Given that we’re talking about the GOP being involved, that is a 100% certainty. They didn’t learn anything from 2012, so they will take the wrong lessons this year when they lose. They will find someone more extreme and bigoted than Trump in 2020, and if they somehow manage to retain control in Congress, they will figure that their only way to retain power is to be even more extreme.

They ran an “autopsy” of their 2012 loss, had one of their (then) prominent members promise that they would no longer be “The Stupid Party”…and then they shredded it all and started repeating all the same mistaking while thinking up new ones.
