Oh, I think they’ll rise to the occasion and come up with something to surprise even you. Might I suggest the following possibilities?

1) Rescue Social Security via nationalization of private pensions?
2) “one-time” wealth and asset taxes?
3) Swaps of Treasuries for Preferred Stock, as a way to Nationalize the market and thereby save Social Security and bailout the “failing” firms on wall street?

I could go on. Trust me, something they come up with will surprise you.
