Just something to point out that in many ways the civil rights act I believe was the wrong way to go about integration. What should have been done was the federal government banning laws forcing the segregation of people and allowing businesses who chose to integrate.

Remember Jim Crow laws were enforced by the state, not by individuals.

Allowing the natural order to progress businesses who failed to integrate would have inexorably been driven out of business by competition from businesses who did.
